Focus on sustainability

Nelco Contact AB is conducting an active quality and environmental work. Our goal is to run a successful and responsible business without compromising on quality, product requirements, and environmental protection. We maintain a consistent focus on compliance during product development and in our work with the products we sell to ensure that relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards are followed.

ISO 9001

Nelco has been certified according to ISO 9001 since April 2001. The certification confirms that Nelco has effective quality management processes, delivers high-quality products and services, and focuses on increasing customer satisfaction through continuous improvement.

Quality policy

Our products and services should maintain a performance and quality level that meets our customers’ requirements and applicable standards. Nelco strives to actively enhance the quality organization with focus on customer needs, employee satisfaction and efficiency of the work methods. An ongoing development is a key part to meet the high demands placed on the company by the market, customers, suppliers and legislative factors.

ISO 14001

Since November 2024, Nelco has been certified according to ISO 14001. The certification demonstrates that we work systematically to reduce our environmental impact, comply with environmental legislation, and continuously improve our environmental efforts for sustainable business.

Environmental policy

Nelco's goal is to work actively to adapt the company's operations to the environment in order to minimize the company's impact on the environment and strive to meet current environmental legislation and other requirements that apply to our operations. We must work to constantly improve our environmental work and prevent negative impact on the environment.

Nelco Contact AB's environmental concern entails the following basic commitments and concrete efforts:

That we avoid disposable items as far as possible and choose environmentally approved office supplies and other consumables.
That we strive for as low energy consumption as possible by using motion detectors and light sensors in all rooms so that the lighting is only switched on when it is needed and that all copiers go into energy saving mode when they are not in use. Our goal is to reduce energy consumption by 2% until 2027-12-31.
To monitor energy consumption and implement energy efficiency improvements where applicable
We aim for that all company cars to be electric or hybrid cars by 2027-12-31 at the latest
That we place reasonable and relevant environmental requirements on our suppliers and take environmental considerations when making major investments.
That we reuse packaging material to the greatest possible extent.
That we leave things in the business that can be recycled to recycling and environmental stations.
That we only print necessary documents and, where possible, use double-sided printing.
That when purchasing from our suppliers, we reduce our environmental load (CO2 emissions) as far as possible by making large purchases (full containers) and reducing the number of purchases/shipments. The goal is to reduce our CO2 emissions by 2% until 2027-12-31
To try to influence our suppliers to use environmentally friendly and reusable materials as far as possible in the manufacture of our products, their transport and recycling of waste.

The audits are conducted by Intertek Certification AB. Intertek annually reviews our compliance with the requirements for continuous improvement under the various standards .

EcoVadis - Bronze Medal

EcoVadis is a recognized and internationally used tool for supplier assessments. It is a platform for reliable CSR assessments (CSR=corporate social responsibility). The EcoVadis evaluation is based on a comparison with other companies in the same industry, and our bronze medal indicates that Nelco belongs to the top 35% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis in the last 12 months. An award from EcoVadis is a recognition that reflects the company's performance in sustainability and social responsibility. It is evidence of the company's commitment to reducing its negative impact on the environment and society, while promoting transparency and ethical business practices. It also demonstrates that the company adheres to international standards and best practices for sustainability.

Producer Responsibility

Nelco is affiliated with the Näringslivets Producentansvar (NPA) for the recycling of packaging. The producer responsibility is regulated by the Ordinance (2022:1274) on producer responsibility for packaging.
